Manga, anime and games
Most people who start Japanese here started because of something they wanted to read, watch or play without waiting for a translation. That is a great reason! If you already care about the language you turn up, you pay attention and you practise without anyone asking, and the words you pick up from something you enjoy tend to stay. Our teachers are more than happy to work with that.
For Japanese-speaking families
Some of our students are native Japanese speakers whose families moved here for work. You speak easily at home, but kanji and written Japanese have fallen behind because the school day runs in English or Thai. Those lessons look quite different from a beginner course. We start from what you can already do and build the reading and writing up to match.

Easier to start than it looks
Three writing systems sounds like a lot, and then you learn kana in a few weeks and kanji arrive a handful at a time. The grammar is regular, with far fewer exceptions than English. Most people are reading their first real sentences sooner than they expected, and there are few better feelings than looking at a sign in Japanese and simply understanding it.
